Xeomin in Waterbury, CT
A purified botulinum toxin for frown lines, administered in a medical clinic by a provider who’d rather undertreated than overdone.
What Xeomin Is
Xeomin is a botulinum toxin type A injection, FDA-approved for moderate to severe glabellar lines — the frown lines between your eyebrows. It’s been available in the United States since 2011.
What makes it distinct is its formulation: Xeomin contains only the active neurotoxin, without the complexing proteins found in some other products. In practical terms, this means there’s less inactive protein in each dose. Whether that makes a clinical difference for any individual patient is debatable — but it’s the factual distinction.
How It Differs from Letybo
Both are purified formulations approved for the same area. The clinical differences are subtle. Some patients respond slightly differently to each, which is why having both available matters — if one doesn’t suit you, we can try the other without sending you elsewhere.
What to Expect
Treatment takes about fifteen minutes. Most people return to their day immediately. Results develop gradually over several days and wear off over time at a rate that varies by person. Common effects include temporary redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site, and occasionally headache. Less commonly, nearby muscles can be affected. Rarely, effects of the toxin can spread beyond the treated area. We go through the full risks before treatment.
Why a Medical Clinic
Same answer as the Letybo page: this is a prescription medication that should be given by a provider who’s taken your history and is there afterwards. We don’t do high-volume, conveyor-belt aesthetics. We do careful work.
Common Questions
Is Xeomin the same as Botox?
Same class — both are botulinum toxin type A. Xeomin’s formulation contains only the active ingredient without the complexing proteins. The results for most people are comparable.
Do you offer Botox?
We carry Xeomin and Letybo. All three are the same class of treatment. If you’ve had Botox before, either of ours will feel familiar.
Will I look frozen?
Not if it’s done well. We start conservatively and add if needed.
How long does it last?
It varies. We’ll set realistic expectations at your visit.
Does insurance cover it?
Cosmetic treatment isn’t covered. We’ll tell you the cost upfront.
Can I switch between Xeomin and Letybo?
Yes. Some patients try both and prefer one. We’ll help you decide.
